Our Income
Approximately 50 per cent of our external funding comes from individuals (including families and family foundations) and the balance comes from corporations (direct or through corporate foundations or trustee companies). We do not seek government funding for SVA operational support although we do partner with several local governments for some of our community initiatives like the Social Enterprise Hubs.
Since SVA’s inception in 2002 up until 30 June 2008 SVA has received cumulative donations of $20.51 million split year by year as follows:

Based on the requests of those who support us, these donations have been used to provide funding for the following (further information of each is provided below):

We also generate income internally, which to date has been relatively minimal. This is from the following sources:
Fees received on a cost recovery basis from:
Mentoring programs
Consulting services
Other income including:
Ticket sales at fundraising events
Interest received on working capital reserves
Investment earnings on permanent capital in the SVA Capital Fund
We expect that internally generated income will become increasingly important in future years, which is part of our strategic intent to increase our sustainability.
